Our Approach to Treatment

At our clinic, treatment is never one-size-fits-all.We take time to understand your body, your symptoms, and your underlying patterns, then choose the most appropriate therapy for you. Each method below is used with a clear purpose — not as a routine, but as part of a personalised treatment plan.

Classic Acupuncture

Some people feel hesitant about acupuncture because it involves needles. However, acupuncture needles are extremely thin — much finer than injection needles — and are used with care and precision, making the treatment safe, gentle, and well tolerated for most people.Acupuncture restores the natural flow of Qi by opening blocked meridians and balancing Yin and Yang. It helps remove stagnation, strengthen weakened organ systems, and calm the mind by regulating internal circulation.

Laser Acupuncture

Laser acupuncture stimulates acupuncture points through focused light energy activation, engaging meridian pathways without skin penetration. This method supports Qi movement, reduces stagnation, and assists organ regulation in a gentle yet clinically meaningful way. It is especially suitable for children, highly sensitive patients, or those who are not yet ready for needling. While laser acupuncture can effectively support circulation and surface-level regulation, classic acupuncture allows for deeper and more precise engagement of the body’s regulatory systems, and remains the primary method when addressing more complex or longstanding patterns.

Fire Cupping Therapy

Fire cupping works by drawing stagnation, cold, and tension out from the muscles and superficial meridian layers.By creating negative pressure, it increases the circulation of Qi and Blood, helps release tight or stuck tissues, and supports the body’s natural detoxification process. This makes cupping particularly effective for stiffness, chronic tension, and pronounced Qi stagnation.Due to the nature of this technique, temporary marks, bruising, or mild blistering may occur, especially when stagnation is significant. These marks are not harmful and typically fade within 7 days. However, if you prefer to avoid visible marks on the body, cupping should be considered carefully and used selectively. When strong stagnation or rigidity needs to be cleared, fire cupping can be a powerful and appropriate option.

Moxibustion

Some people feel cold for no clear reason — cold hands and feet, a constantly chilled body, swelling, aching joints in the back, shoulders, hips, or knees, and severe menstrual pain. These symptoms are often seen in individuals whose bodies are weakened and dominated by internal cold, where circulation slows and warmth cannot be properly maintained.Moxibustion is especially effective for this type of constitution.By delivering deep, sustained warmth to specific acupuncture points, moxibustion helps drive cold out of the body, strengthen digestive and metabolic function, and restore the body’s ability to generate and retain heat from within.

Herbal Tea Therapy

Herbal tea therapy may be offered as a complementary form of support in certain cases, alongside acupuncture treatment.Rather than providing personalised herbal prescriptions, we may use carefully selected traditional formulas to support common patterns such as stress-related tension, digestive discomfort, or general fatigue, when appropriate. When natural herbal formulas are chosen thoughtfully and used in alignment with an individual’s current condition, they can enhance overall treatment response by providing gentle, ongoing support.

Full Body Red Light Therapy

Full body red light therapy uses targeted wavelengths of light to support cellular energy, circulation, and tissue recovery throughout the body.Red and near-infrared light help promote healing in muscles and joints, making this therapy particularly useful for chronic musculoskeletal conditions, including long-standing ACC-related issues. We chose a full body system to support whole-body regulation rather than isolated spot treatment, as many recovery patterns involve systemic tension and slow circulation. Our system also includes green and blue light options, allowing targeted support for common skin concerns seen in New Zealand. Used appropriately, light therapy complements acupuncture by supporting both deep tissue recovery and surface-level regulation.
